Siberian Purslane / Pink Purslane (Claytonia sibirica / Montia sibirica)

Clump-forming perennial that is evergreen in areas that see mild winters.  Self-seeds readily to form carpets – so good ground cover.  Also tolerates some foot traffic.  Prefers slightly moist soil.  Can tolerate shade well.

Siberian Purslane is a great salad plant.  Leaves and stems can be harvested all year round and have a slight beetroot flavour.
