Edible flowers can be added to salads.

Medicinally, decoction of the root of the Marsh Mallow is used to ease coughs and bronchitis due to it containing large amounts of mucilage, creating a soothing affect.

The leaves or roots, freshly crushed, can be used to help reduce inflammation.
