Aztec Broccoli / Huauzontle (Chenopodium berlandieri)

A fast-growing plant of the Chenopodium family, reaching about 1.2m (4ft) high. It can be used for its edible leaves but also as a similar vegetable to Purple Sprouting Broccoli. The plant puts out hundreds of flowering shoots that can be harvested just before the flower buds break. The more you harvest, the more shoots the plant produces. Boil or steam.
