California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica)

California Poppy is a vigorous, bushy, spreading annual. With a height of 30cm and a spread of 15cm, it has finely divided blue-green leaves and beautiful orange, yellow or red flowers from June to August. It prefers a sunny position.
It is great for attracting bees and other pollinators.
The leaves can be eaten or used as a garnish. The seeds can be used in cooking.
Medicinally It is dried and used as a diffusion, tincture, and powder. It is a mild sedative, is an analgesic, antispasmodic and is anti-microbial. It has been known to aid in the treatment of insomnia, bedwetting, anxiety and nervous tension, particularly in children.
