Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

£2.95£5.50

Lemon Balm is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial herb. Very aromatic.  Plants grow to 80cm high/40cm wide.  Prefers a well-drained soil and a sunny to partial shade position.

Fresh leaves give a wondeful lemony/minty flavour to salads, stuffings etc.  They can also be used to make a refreshing tea.

Leaves can be used to help relieve insect bites as the plant is slightly antiseptic.  An infusion of the leaves can be used against fevers, colds, nausea and upset stomach.
