Herbaceous perennial reaching 30-60cm/1’-2’ high when flowering with beautiful spikes of blueish-mauve flowers from mid to late summer.

Similar to mint in appearance and habit.  Prefers a sunny position and well-drained soil.

The leaves of this plant have a lovely anise flavour and can be eaten raw in salads or used in soups.  The leaves can also be used to make a refreshing tea.

Anise Hyssop is said to help repel cabbage moths.  It is also fantastic bee attractant.
