Cottagers Kale (Brassica oleracea var acephala)

An heirloom kale that gives a steady supply of leaves through winter and a secondary splurge of leaves in spring. Attractive green leaves with purple stems. Baby leaves are very pleasant eaten raw in salads. Prefers a rich soil and full sun to partial shade. May require netting to keep pigeons/caterpillars away. Can be propagated by cuttings.  May flower but continues to produce leaves. Flowering stems can be cut off (and eaten!).
